As I said in the previous post, every 1st Monday is Entertain Me Mondays. We will showcase black women in entertainment, some newbies, some classics.

Today’s spotlight is Res. Res first burst on to the scene with her 2001 debut album How I do which included hits like “Golden Boy” and “They-Say Vision.” She has since worked and toured with other stars such as Talib Kweli and Gnarls Barkely. Her silky mix of R&B and alternative leaves the listener yearning for more. Res and Kweli, along with Canadian singer/rapper Graph Nobel make up the group Idle Warship. She recently released her FREE mixtape A Box of Chocolates which includes honest tracks like Sometimes and a great rendition of Three Dog Night‘s classic track One. Visit her website to download the mixtape. You won’t be disappointed.

Below, Res performs her song “On My Way” from her Black.Girls.Rock. release from her Live@Best Buy performance this past March.
